9th February 2011 - 11th February 2011
Armathwaite Hall, Bassenthwaite, Lake District
This year's Winter School will take place at Armathwaite Hall in the Lake District. It aims to explore issues and new developments in depth, provide practical advice for day to day work and inspire delegates to take a fresh approach to their role. Martin Hall, Vice-Chancellor of Salford University, will provide the keynote speech descibing the ground breaking work at Salford in promoting open access.
The school provides an opportunity to keep up to date with the latest developments away from the pressures of the workplace. Particpants will be able to develop helpful ideas and strategies which they can apply to their day to day work. The comfortable surroundings encourage networking during formal sessions and also in a social environment in the evening .
Armathwaite Hall is at the head of Bassentwaite Lake in the Lake District not far from Keswick. Although, it has a remote feel, it is only 15 minutes from the A66 main road between Penrith and Workington. For those travelling by rail, the nearest station is Penrith and we aim to coordinate transport from here to the hotel.
The event is subsidised by the RSP. Places cost just £120 per person, including two nights B&B, lunch on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and evening meals on Wednesday and Thursday. Due to high demand, places are initially limited to one delegate per repository/institution. However, we will operate a reserve list should places become available due to cancellation.
Booking is now closed for this event. However, if you wish to be placed on a waiting list please e-mail Jackie Wickham at the e-mail address below.
